London, England – Press reports indicate that Manchester City is developing strong plans to bolster its midfield during the upcoming transfer window, as it seeks to maintain its domestic and European dominance.
According to TeamTalk, City are targeting two top players to strengthen that position. Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali is their top priority, along with Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson.
Reports indicate that Manchester City are prepared to spend approximately £190 million to secure the two deals: £100 million for Tonali and £90 million for Anderson, particularly given manager Pep Guardiola’s desire to rebuild his midfield.
Sporting director Hugo Viana is overseeing transfer dealings at a time when the club faces uncertainty surrounding the future of several midfielders, most notably Rodri, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and Bernardo Silva, who has also opened the door to a departure.
City are also considering including some players in swap deals to facilitate the completion of contracts, including James Trafford, Rico Lewis, Issa Kabore and Jumaa Ba, as part of their efforts to strengthen the team with young and influential players.
