Genoa, Italy – The Algerian national team achieved a resounding victory over their Guatemalan counterparts with a score of 7-0, in the friendly match that brought them together as part of the preparations of “The Greens” for the upcoming events, most notably the World Cup finals.
The Luigi Ferraris stadium in Genoa, Italy, hosted the match, which was dominated by the Algerian national team from the beginning until the final whistle.
Amine Gouiri opened the scoring in the 19th minute, after taking advantage of a terrible mistake by the Guatemalan goalkeeper and firing a long ball into the net, before Riyad Mahrez added the second goal from a penalty kick in the 31st minute.
Before the end of the first half, Ashraf Abada extended Algeria’s lead with a third goal in the second minute of stoppage time, ending the half with a comfortable advantage for “Les Verts” (The Greens).
As the second half began, the Algerian team continued their dominance, with Houssem Aouar scoring the fourth goal in the 47th minute after a brilliant pass from Rayan Aït-Nouri. The same player then added a fifth goal in the 61st minute.
In the 76th minute, Fares Ghejmis scored his first goal for the national team with a powerful shot. Then, in the 82nd minute, Nadhir Ben Bouali capped off the goal fest with the seventh goal.
The Algerian national team is scheduled to continue its training camp in Italy, where it is preparing to play a new friendly match against Uruguay next Tuesday in Turin.
