Cairo, Egypt – Zamalek secured their place in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals after defeating Congolese side Otoho d’Oyo 2-1 in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, played this evening at Cairo International Stadium.
Zamalek started the match strongly and succeeded in opening the scoring early in the 16th minute, after Hossam Abdel-Maguid converted a perfect cross from Abdullah Al-Saeed into the net with a powerful header.

— beIN SPORTS (@beINSPORTS) March 22, 2026 Zamalek nearly added a third goal before halftime when Mahmoud Bentayk’s powerful shot struck the crossbar. The rebound fell to Oday Dabbagh, whose shot hit the post, in a double chance that could have sealed the match early.
In the second half, Zamalek continued their dominance and managed to score a third goal through Adam Kayed in the 76th minute, but the referee disallowed it due to offside.
Before the end of the match, Otoho narrowed the gap through Grace Mavungo with a powerful shot in the 83rd minute, igniting the final minutes.
The excitement increased after Zamalek finished the match with ten players following the expulsion of goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi, after a violent tackle, following a review of the video technology.
Despite 7 minutes of added time, Zamalek managed to maintain their lead, securing qualification with a 3-2 aggregate score.
With this victory, Zamalek sets up a semi-final meeting with CR Belouizdad, who qualified at the expense of Al Masry.
