Barcelona president Joan Laporta addressed a message to the Catalan club’s fans after winning a new presidential term in the elections held on Sunday.
Laporta won the Barcelona presidency race after defeating his rival Victor Font, and will continue to lead the club until 2031.
Laporta expressed his gratitude for the support of Barcelona fans in a video posted on the club’s official X platform, emphasizing his appreciation for the trust placed in him by the club members.
Laporta said in his message: “Barcelona fans, thank you for renewing your trust in us. I am returning to the presidency of this great club, and I feel very proud of this honor. I and the members of the board of directors are very grateful to you”.
He added: “Thank you for giving us institutional stability, and for your confidence in our ability to continue the work we started, and to build a bright future for the club with a strong team led by Hansi Flick, and with the support of the management led by Deco, along with the players and athletes who delight Barcelona fans”.
The Barcelona president concluded his message by saying: “Thank you for making Barcelona one of the greatest clubs in the world. I assure you that our best years are yet to come. Long live Barcelona and long live Catalonia”.
