Manchester City are preparing for an important match against West Ham United this Saturday evening, as part of the 30th round of the English Premier League.
Manchester City will be guests of West Ham in the match hosted by the London Olympic Stadium, in a game during which the Sky Blues will seek to continue their pursuit of the top spot and reduce the gap with the leader.
Manchester City are second in the Premier League table with 60 points, seven points behind leaders Arsenal, while West Ham are in 18th place with 28 points.
The British newspaper “Evening Standard” reported that Spanish coach Pep Guardiola is considering making some changes to the team’s formation, following the recent loss in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
The right-back position is expected to see a choice between Abdulkadir Khusanov and the Portuguese Matheus Nunes, although the latter remains the closest to returning to the starting lineup.
In goal, Guardiola may rely on Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma, as the coach seeks to strengthen the defensive system after the mistakes that appeared in the last match.
The Spanish coach is also considering making limited changes to the back line, where he has several options, most notably Nathan Ake, John Stones, Max Allen, and Ruben Dias.
In midfield, Guardiola may include Dutchman Tijani Reynders in the starting lineup, following the team’s performance against Real Madrid, especially given the intense competition in the midfield.
On the offensive level, the position of Egyptian Omar Marmoush remains dependent on the coach’s technical choices, as he may get the opportunity to participate if Guardiola decides to rest Norwegian Erling Haaland, or exclude Savinho from the list, which may open the way for Antoine Simeone to return to the right wing position.
Jeremy Doku is expected to lead Manchester City’s left attack, after delivering a remarkable performance during his appearances in the last match against Real Madrid.
