Abu Dhabi, UAE – Bani Yas achieved an important victory over Al Wasl with a score of 2-0, in the postponed match from the 16th round of the UAE Pro League, which was held yesterday evening at Bani Yas Stadium.

Youssoufou Nketiah opened the scoring for Bani Yas in the 19th minute, after he capitalized on a perfect cross from Sevior Godwin to convert it directly into the net.
The home side continued their pressure, with Mohamedou Camara adding the second goal in the 30th minute, after following up a powerful header inside the penalty area and putting it into Al Wasl’s net.

In the second half, Bani Yas almost extended their lead to 3-0 in the 65th minute when Sevier Godwin unleashed a powerful shot that was parried by the goalkeeper. The rebound fell to Godwin, who chipped the ball over the keeper, but it struck the crossbar. The ball then fell to Youssouf Nketiah, who fired wide.
Both teams continued their efforts in the remaining minutes without any change to the score, and the match ended with Bani Yas winning 2-0.

With this victory, Bani Yas raised its tally to 17 points in twelfth place, while Al Wasl’s tally remained frozen at 30 points in fifth place in the league standings.
