Wolverhampton, England – Liverpool manager Arne Sloat expressed his disappointment after his team’s 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton in their Premier League match.
Slot’s post-match comments
“The result is bad for us,” Slot said at the press conference following the match. “We played a fairly good first half, but the performance lacked cohesion between the lines, and there was a degree of randomness”.
He added: “We had more than one chance to get back into the game, and we hit a ball that hit the crossbar, but we conceded a goal from a counter-attack at the end, and that is what frustrates me the most”.
The Liverpool coach continued: “I had warned the players about the danger posed by Wolverhampton, especially on set pieces and quick attacks, as they are adept at exploiting defensive errors effectively”.
He concluded his remarks by saying: “We did not fall short in possessing the ball, but we did not take advantage of the large number of opportunities that came our way, whether to decide the match or at least to come away with a draw”.
Liverpool and Wolverhampton standings
With this result, Liverpool remain on 48 points in fifth place. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers moved up to 16 points, boosting their hopes of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.
