Rabat, Morocco – The Moroccan Royal Army Club announced that it has filed an official complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against Al-Ahly, following the events that took place during the match between the two teams in the African Champions League.
The Royal Army explained in an official statement on its Facebook page that it condemns what it described as “unsportsmanlike behavior” by some Al-Ahly fans, pointing to the throwing of water bottles towards the field, which it considered a threat to the safety of the players and members of the technical staff.
The Moroccan club confirmed that it has begun taking legal action by officially contacting CAF, demanding the application of the regulations governing the competition, in order to preserve the principles of fair play and ensure the safety of all elements of the match.
The match between Al-Ahly and the Royal Army ended in a goalless draw, in a game that witnessed tension between the fans of the two teams, in addition to some incidents in the stands.
