Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Jazira secured a valuable 2-1 victory over visiting Ittihad Kalba. The match took place at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium as part of the 16th round of the UAE Pro League.
Kalba surprised the home side with an early goal in the fourth minute, courtesy of Shahriar Mughanloo, who capitalized on a through ball that put him one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The first half ended with the visitors leading 1-0, despite Al Jazira’s repeated attempts to equalize.
At the start of the second half, substitute Omar Traoré quickly equalized in the 46th minute, tapping in a low cross. Al Jazira then continued to press for a go-ahead goal, but Kalba’s goalkeeper made several excellent saves.
Simon Banza scored the winning goal for Al Jazira in the 77th minute, heading home a powerful cross to secure three valuable points for his team.
