Atletico responded with a dangerous chance in the 23rd minute through Julian Alvarez, but Jules Koundé intervened in time and cleared the ball off the goal line.
Atletico Madrid continued to dominate the game, and added a third goal in the 33rd minute through Ademola Lookman, after a superb pass from Julian Alvarez, which Lookman exploited with a powerful shot that found the back of the net.

The Catalan team’s suffering increased after the referee showed the red card to Eric Garcia, following a strong tackle, leaving Barcelona to finish the match with ten players.
With this result, Atletico Madrid have one foot in the final, ahead of the second leg scheduled for March 3 at the “Spotify Camp Nou” stadium, to officially secure qualification.
