Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt pulled off a stunning upset, defeating Manchester City 3-1 in a thrilling Champions League match on Tuesday night.
Manchester City visited Bodø/Glimt at the latter’s stadium, as part of the seventh round of matches in the continental tournament, only to suffer an unexpected defeat against the Norwegian team.
Bodo Glimt started the match strongly and succeeded in opening the scoring in the 22nd minute, after Derek Blumberg sent a perfect cross from the right flank into the penalty area, which Kasper Hauge met with a powerful header that settled inside the net.
Just two minutes later, Hogg struck again, adding a second goal. He capitalized on another cross into the penalty area, meeting it with a first-time shot that found the back of the Manchester City net, amidst clear defensive confusion.

At the start of the second half, Jens Peter Hauge extended the home side’s lead by scoring the third goal in the 58th minute, bringing his team closer to achieving a historic victory.
Manchester City responded quickly through Rayan Cherki, who reduced the deficit in the 60th minute with a well-placed low shot into the net, but it was not enough to get back into the game.
With this result, Bodø/Glimt raised its tally to 6 points to occupy 27th place. Meanwhile, Manchester City’s tally remained frozen at 13 points in sixth place in the standings.
