Rabat, Morocco – Nigeria secured their place in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Algeria 2-0 in their match on Saturday evening.
The match was held at Marrakech Stadium, as part of the quarter-final round of the continental championship.
The Nigerian team appeared organized from the beginning of the match, and imposed its style during the course of the game, before succeeding in deciding it during the second half by scoring two consecutive goals.
Victor Osimhen opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 47th minute, after receiving a perfect cross from the left side, and heading it powerfully into the Algerian net.

With this result, Nigeria qualifies for the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, setting up a meeting with Morocco, who in turn qualified after defeating Cameroon 2-0.
The semi-final match between Nigeria and Morocco is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 PM.
