Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Al-Ahli defeated Al-Nasr 3-2 in the match that took place on Friday evening, as part of the 13th round of the Saudi League competition.
Al-Ahli met Al-Nasr at Al-Inma Stadium, in a match that witnessed great excitement until the last minutes.
Al-Ahli asserted their dominance early in the match, opening the scoring in the seventh minute. This came after Galinho led a swift counter-attack and delivered a low cross which Ivan Toni met with a shot into Al-Nasr’s net.
Al-Ahli almost added a second goal in the 11th minute. After a new counter-attack that ended with a cross that reached Ali Majrashi, who strangely shot the ball near the goal.
Al-Ahli succeeded in strengthening their lead with the second goal in the 20th minute. Following a long pass that penetrated Al-Nasr’s defense, Ivan Toni found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and shot the ball powerfully over Nawaf Al-Aqidi into the net.
Al-Nasr turns the tables and secures a draw
Al-Nasr did not give up, and succeeded in reducing the deficit in the 31st minute. After a powerful shot from outside the penalty area by Abdul-Ilah Al-Amri, Al-Ahli goalkeeper Abdul-Rahman Al-Saibi made a mistake in dealing with it, and the ball went into the net.
Before the end of the first half, Al-Nasr scored the equalizer in the 44th minute. Following a corner kick taken by Marcelo Brozovic, Abdul-Ilah Al-Amri met it with a powerful header into the goal.
Al-Ahli refuse to settle for a draw and regain the lead
At the start of the second half, Al-Ahli regained their lead by scoring the third goal in the 55th minute. After executing a free kick that ended with a wonderful header from Merih Demiral that nestled in Al-Nasr’s net.

In the 90+9 minute, Al-Nasr player Nawaf Boushal received a direct red card, after he fouled one of Al-Ahli’s players who was alone in front of the goal.
Despite the numerical disadvantage of both teams, the result did not change, and the match ended with Al-Ahly winning by three goals to two.
With this result, Al-Nasr suffered its first loss in the Saudi League this season, but it maintained its lead in the standings with 31 points, while Al-Ahli raised its tally to 25 points in fourth place.
