Rabat, Morocco – The match between Tunisia and Tanzania, which took place on Tuesday evening as part of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, ended in a 1-1 draw.
Tunisia and Tanzania met at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Stadium, as part of the third and final round of the group stage of the continental championship.
Tunisia took the lead in the 43rd minute through Ismaili Gharbi, who successfully converted a penalty kick.
In the second half, Tanzania equalized in the 48th minute through Faisal Salum, after he fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that found the back of the net.
Tanzania almost scored the opening goal when Simon Msuva met a cross with a powerful header inside the penalty area, but the ball went just wide of the post.
With this result, the Tunisian national team qualified for the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations after finishing second in Group C with 4 points.
Tanzania also secured qualification to the same round, after finishing third with two points, among the top 4 third-placed teams in the group stage.
