Rabat, Morocco – The South African national team achieved a hard-fought victory over their Angolan counterparts by two goals to one, in the match that brought them together on Monday evening, as part of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations competitions.
South Africa met Angola at the Marrakech Stadium in Morocco, in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations.
South Africa took the lead in the 21st minute of the first half, through Ozwein Abulis.
The goal came after a pass from his teammate Lily Foster, which he received and shot from inside the penalty area into the net.
South Africa responded by equalizing in the 35th minute, through Kafumana Manuel Shaw, after a pass from Freddy.
The positive draw between the two teams continued until the 79th minute, before the “Bafana Bafana” team succeeded in scoring the second goal through Lily Foster.
The goal came in the 79th minute, after a powerful shot from outside the penalty area found the back of the net.
With that result, South Africa temporarily tops Group B with 3 points, while Angola remains without points. The result of the Egypt vs. Zimbabwe match, currently underway in the same group, is still pending.
