Doha, Qatar – Al Gharafa of Qatar defeated Al Wahda of the UAE 1-0 in their match on Monday evening, as part of the AFC Champions League.

Al Gharafa met Al Wahda at Thani bin Jassam Stadium, in the sixth round of the AFC Champions League.

The match was modest in the first half, with both teams displaying mutual caution.

In the second half, Al Gharafa of Qatar began to pose a threat, earning a penalty in the 53rd minute after Al Wahda goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi fouled Florinel Koeman. The referee subsequently sent off the goalkeeper.

But the crossbar denied Yacine Brahimi a goal from the penalty spot.

Five minutes later, Al Gharafa player Dame Traore was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

In the 87th minute, Al Gharafa managed to snatch the winning goal through Seydou Sane, after a direct shot from inside the penalty area.
