Zanzibar, Tanzania – The River of Life Fund, one of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority’s health initiatives, established a medical camp in Zanzibar, United Republic of Tanzania. To diagnose and treat children with congenital heart disease.
The camp received about 250 children, who underwent medical examinations and specialized diagnostic tests.
The results showed that a number of them needed precise surgical interventions. Other cases require continued treatment and medical follow-up for longer periods.

The Fund has developed an urgent plan to treat cases requiring surgical intervention. A number of operations will be conducted within Tanzania. The Fund will transport the most complex cases, accompanied by their families, to hospitals specializing in heart diseases and surgeries in the Republic of India.
The Emirates Red Crescent Authority launched the “River of Life” Fund in 2023. With the aim of providing health care to children with incurable diseases in a number of countries. Especially cases that require specialized surgical interventions.
Since its launch, the fund has contributed to giving many children new hope for recovery, saving their lives, and improving their future.
