Rabat, Morocco – The Moroccan national team secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Comoros in their opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, played on Sunday evening.
Morocco faced Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the first round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The match started strongly for both teams in the opening minutes, with Morocco having a slight advantage. Soufiane Rahimi missed a penalty for the “Atlas Lions” in the 11th minute.
Ibrahim Diaz scored Morocco’s first goal in the 56th minute. It came after a cross from Noussair Mazraoui on the right flank into the penalty area. Diaz met it with a first-time shot that found the back of the net in the right corner.
