Doha, Qatar – The Iraqi national team succeeded in qualifying for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup, after defeating Sudan 2-0 in the match that brought them together on Saturday evening, for the second round.
The Iraqi national team met with Sudan at the “974” stadium in Qatar, as part of the second round of the Arab Championship.
The Iraqi national team took the lead with the first goal in the 81st minute, through Mohanad Ali, after a powerful shot from inside the penalty area that found the back of the net.
Meanwhile, Amjad Atwan added the second goal for the “Lions of Mesopotamia” in the 84th minute, with a penetration and shot from inside the penalty area that found the back of the net.

The victory raised Iraq’s tally to 6 points at the top of the group standings, thus qualifying them for the quarter-finals, while Sudan came in third place with one point.
