North America – The final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying has concluded, with three teams officially securing their places in the tournament to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These three teams topped their respective groups after impressive performances.
Haiti… a return after half a century
Haiti achieved a historic feat by securing a place in the World Cup for the first time since their sole appearance in 1974. Qualification came after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Nicaragua. Despite the joy of qualifying, concern gripped the national team camp and their Greek club, AEK Athens, after Frantz Pierrot suffered an injury and was forced to leave the field in the 32nd minute of the match.

In a stunning upset, Curaçao achieved their dream of qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in their history. This feat came after a goalless draw (0-0) against Jamaica. This result was enough to secure first place in their group and a spot among the world’s elite at the biggest football tournament.
Panama confirmed their presence, continuing their strong performances and securing first place in Group A with a resounding 3-0 victory over El Salvador. This win earned them direct qualification. In another match in the same qualifiers, Guatemala defeated Suriname, keeping their hopes alive for a playoff berth.
