Cairo, Egypt – Barcelona achieved a resounding victory over their host Celta Vigo by four goals to two, in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening, as part of the Spanish League competitions.
Barcelona visited Celta Vigo at the Balaídos stadium, as part of the 12th round of the Spanish League competition.
Barcelona took the lead in the tenth minute through Robert Lewandowski, from a penalty kick awarded to the Blaugrana.
Celta Vigo responded quickly with an equalizer in the 11th minute, through Sergio Carrera, after he broke through on goal and scored a shot that found the back of the net.
In the 37th minute, Robert Lewandowski restored Celta’s lead, scoring his second goal of the match, before Borja Iglesias leveled the score for Celta Vigo in the 43rd minute.
Barcelona continued to press Celta Vigo, and Lamine Yamal added a third goal for the Blaugrana in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time (45+4).
The goal came after a low cross from Rashford was misjudged by the Celta Vigo defense, falling to Yamal who fired a shot from inside the penalty area into the back of the net.
Lewandowski completed his hat-trick for Barcelona in the 73rd minute with a header that found the back of the net.
Frenkie de Jong sealed the victory for Barcelona in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time (90+5), securing three valuable points for his team.
With that result, Barcelona raised its tally to 28 points in second place in the Spanish League standings, while Celta Vigo came in 13th place with 13 points.
