Cairo, Egypt – Al Ahly Club elections were held yesterday, Friday, to choose a new board of directors for the period from 2025 to 2029. The electoral process witnessed a large turnout from members of the general assembly amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and media and public interest.
Mahmoud El Khatib wins the elections unopposed
Mahmoud El Khatib won the presidency of Al Ahly Club’s board of directors for a third consecutive term by acclamation, facing no competition for the position. He will thus continue to lead the club into a new era of achievements. Yassin Mansour also won the vice-presidency by acclamation, while Khaled Mortagy was retained in his position as treasurer.
Council membership and renewal seats
Regarding the membership seats, Tarek Kandil, Mohamed El-Damaty, Mohamed El-Ghazawy, and Mohamed El-Garhy were elected, while the elections saw the addition of new faces to the council, such as Sayed Abdel-Hafez, Ahmed Hossam Awad, and Hazem Helal. Ibrahim El-Amry and Rowaida Hesham were elected as members under the age of 35, while Hassan Tantawy, the independent candidate, was unsuccessful in securing a seat for members over the age of 35.

The elections witnessed a large turnout from members of the general assembly from the early hours of registration on Friday morning, with voting continuing until 7:00 PM. The atmosphere of the elections reflected the widespread engagement of members who expressed their loyalty to the club and their desire to support the new board of directors.
