Sharjah, United Arab Emirates – Ajman clinched an important 1-0 victory over Sharjah in the closing match of Matchweek 4 of the ADNOC Pro League, held this evening at Sharjah Stadium.

Moroccan striker Walid Azaro netted the decisive goal in the 70th minute, finishing off a superb pass from Serbian midfielder Dino Hotic, to hand his side three crucial points. The win lifted Ajman’s tally to 6 points, placing them 8th in the standings, while Sharjah remained on 4 points in 10th place.

The clash was lively from the outset, with Ajman holding the upper hand in the first half with 51% possession compared to Sharjah’s 48%. Both teams squandered clear chances, notably Azaro’s header in the 12th minute cleared off the line, and a powerful strike from Dimitri Silva that was denied by the goalkeeper.

Sharjah nearly broke the deadlock late in the first half with a shot that skimmed past the post. In the second half, both sides made attacking substitutions in search of the opener, but it was Ajman who had the final say through Azaro’s composed finish.

With this result, Ajman signaled a strong return after an inconsistent start to the season, while pressure continues to mount on Sharjah following another missed opportunity to collect points.
