Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Shabab Al Ahli emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Dubai Derby. They defeated hosts Al Nasr 1-0 on Saturday evening at Al Maktoum Stadium in Matchweek 4 of the ADNOC Pro League.

Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun scored the decisive goal with a brilliant header in the 95th minute. This was deep into stoppage time, handing his side three valuable points.

With this result, Shabab Al Ahli climbed to 10 points, moving into second place behind league leaders Al Ain on goal difference. Meanwhile, Al Nasr remained on 7 points in sixth position.

The clash was packed with excitement and missed chances. Shabab Al Ahli’s Cartabia and Dabbur came close early on. Moreover, goalkeeper Hamad Al Maqbali denied Al Nasr’s Kevin with a fingertip save in the 41st minute. Al Nasr’s Gustavo also kept his side in the game with a vital block just before halftime.

In the second half, both teams continued to press forward. Menasah tested Al Maqbali, and Yuri Cesar nearly broke the deadlock for Shabab Al Ahli in the 74th minute with a strike that flashed just wide. Ultimately, the breakthrough came in dramatic fashion. Azmoun sealed the win with his stoppage-time header, sparking celebrations among the visitors in the Dubai Derby.
