Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The eighth edition of the Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, at Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai. This highly anticipated jujitsu event is a significant moment for enthusiasts.
This is with wide participation from various local clubs and an elite group of jujitsu champions ranked at the state level.
The tournament witnesses fights in four main categories: adults (over 18 years old), youth (under 18 years old), juniors (under 16 years old), and cubs (under 14 years old).
The qualifying stage will be held tomorrow. It will be completed the day after tomorrow with the final matches and crowning the winners of the first three places in each category. Jujitsu competitors are eager to prove their skills.
His Excellency Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, stressed that the Vice President’s Cup Championship enjoys a special place on the Federation’s championship agenda.
Competition Enhancement
It represents an essential station for refining players’ skills and enhancing competition between clubs and academies.

Zayed Al Kaabi, coach of Al Ain Club, said that the club enters the eighth edition of the Vice President’s Cup with great ambitions. This is especially important after the successes we achieved in the last edition. We won the U-14 and U-18 titles. He noted the achievements that reflect the great efforts made by the players, technical and administrative staff. These give us additional motivation to continue presenting strong levels this year.
The seventh edition of the tournament witnessed strong competitions. It ended with Al Ain Club being crowned champion of the Cubs (under 14 years old) and Youth (under 18 years old) categories.
Outperforming Sharjah Self Defense Sports, Baniyas and Al Jazira.
While Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club won the U-16 junior category title.
Outperforming Bani Yas and Al Ain. Al Wahda Club maintained the senior jujitsu category title ahead of Al Ain and Bani Yas.
