Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced the launch of the fifth round of the Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, for the “No Suit” category. The championship will be held on August 16 and 17 at Al Nasr Club in Dubai. Approximately 1,000 athletes from various clubs and academies across the country will participate.
The tournament will feature diverse competitions across age groups: Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16 on the first day. The second day will have bouts for the Under 18, Senior, and Masters categories. All events will be conducted in a competitive atmosphere between clubs and academies. This environment brings together elite sporting talent and the most prominent rising stars. It contributes to raising the level of technical performance among the players. These competitions consolidate the tournament’s position as a leading sporting platform in the country.
Pioneering model
On this occasion, His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized that the second edition of the championship represents a pioneering model. It is important in developing sports talent and creating future champions. He pointed out that the non-suited competitions contribute to revealing new aspects of the players’ skills. This category encourages players to adopt innovative and diverse methods during combat. This supports the Federation’s efforts to develop their abilities and hone their potential. This category represents a unique challenge that differs from traditional suit competitions. It relies more on elements of speed, physical fitness, and tactical skill. These elements enrich the audience’s experience and give the championship a lively and exciting character.
Al Dhaheri said: “Since its inception, the championship, which bears a name dear to our hearts, has contributed to raising generations that are mentally and physically strong. It represents an important step in the development of jiu-jitsu in the country.
