Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The UAE Modern Sailing Team (SSL) will participate in the 2026 Asian Championship in Thailand, which qualifies for the World Cup finals.
Starting tomorrow, Sunday, the national team will hold an external camp in Switzerland as part of intensive preparations to participate in the Asian Championship for the first time, as the camp will continue until August 20.
The Emirates Sailing and Rowing Federation announced the list of the national team that will participate in the camp, which included 10 players led by Olympic player Adel Khaled.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, Secretary General of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, said that this participation is a historic moment, as it represents the first participation in the history of the Emirates in the SSL League competitions.
Al-Obaidli stressed that the Federation seeks to prepare a strong team capable of competing in the 2026 Asian Championship and qualifying for the World Cup, with a focus on building a generation of citizen sailors who possess skill, experience, and a high competitive spirit.
