Tehran, Iran – The Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute at Tehran University announced that an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck the outskirts of Farghan. Farghan is located in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran. The quake occurred early Tuesday morning. According to the Mehr News Agency, the earthquake was recorded at 1:45:25 AM local time, at a depth of 10 kilometers. Specifically, it was recorded at the coordinates 56.11 degrees longitude and 28.13 degrees latitude.

Distance details and nearby locations

The epicenter of the earthquake was detected near the city of Farghan in Hormozgan province. The distances between the epicenter and the most prominent neighboring areas were as follows: Farghan area, only 18 kilometers from the epicenter. Hajiabad city is 29 kilometers away in Hormozgan province. Additionally, Arzuyeh city is 45 kilometers away in the neighboring Kerman province.

Field situation and damage

As of the time of this report, no official reports of casualties or material damage have been received as a result of the earthquake.

Emergency teams and relevant authorities in Hormozgan province are continuing to monitor the situation on the ground. This is to ensure the safety of residents in villages and towns near the epicenter. Meanwhile, they are emphasizing their continued readiness to deal with any potential emergency in this seismically active region.
