Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Social media platform company Instagram has launched a version of the platform’s application to work with iPad tablets. These tablets are produced by the American company Apple.
This move comes years after iPad users were asked to make a version of Instagram available for their devices.
This is so that users do not have to use the iPhone version of the application, which does not support the large screen.
Or access the platform via the web.
By default, the new application relies on the Rails short video service screen.
This allows the user to scroll up and watch short videos on a larger screen.
The Instagram app for iPad also has almost all the features of the mobile app in terms of viewing.
Stories appear at the top of the app. You can access different options from the left sidebar, such as follow posts, direct messages, search, explore, and notifications.
The Instagram Content Feed section on the iPad contains 3 options: “All” to display nominated posts and clips from accounts the user follows. “Friends” to display shared posts and clips. “Latest” to display posts and clips in chronological order of publication.
These videos and clips can also be rearranged according to the user’s preferences.
TechCrunch, a website specializing in technology topics, indicated that Instagram, which is currently on the iPad, is an application developed to work with the i operating system. It appears unattractive to the user’s eye.
Tablet version too
Instagram said it has now updated the app to be dedicated to tablets and fit the big screen.
For example, when you watch a video, you can see the comments on the side.
When you open the Messages tab, you can open a specific conversation while viewing all active chats on the left.
Although Instagram has been around for nearly 15 years, the company has not prioritized its app on iPads yet.
Adam Mosseri, the company’s president, has repeatedly said that the company is in no hurry to develop a version for the iPad.
Earlier this year, The Information reported that Instagram was finally developing an app for iPads.
This has also led to the emergence of external applications that allow access to the platform via iPad devices, such as the Retro application.
