California, USA – Meta has decided to postpone the launch of its Phoenix mixed reality headset until 2027. Initial plans had indicated a release this year. This decision comes amid technical and marketing challenges, most notably improving device performance and user experience.

Sources familiar with the matter said the company is working on developing the headset’s core components, including cameras and sensors. The company is striving to deliver a more realistic and seamless mixed reality experience and is also aiming for full compatibility with other Meta devices.

Meta confirmed its continued investment in the augmented and virtual reality sector. The company considers the Phoenix project a pivotal step in its strategy to build an integrated platform for future digital experiences.

The company indicated that this postponement aims to deliver a product that meets users’ expectations and strengthens its position in the innovative technology market.
