Ramallah, Palestine – A Palestinian report revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is working to exploit current regional developments to reshape the balance of power in the Middle East. This aims to solidify what the report described as the “Israeli balance of power” as the governing framework for the next phase.
The report explained that recent Israeli political, military, and diplomatic moves cannot be separated from a broader strategic vision aimed at reshaping the regional environment. This is being done through managing the conflict in Gaza and dealing with the fronts of tension in Lebanon and Syria. Furthermore, there is an indirect impact on the course of regional and international negotiations.
He pointed out that this approach is based on exploiting the fluid political and security situation in the region to reshape the rules of engagement. This, in turn, guarantees Israel a long-term strategic advantage and limits the ability of other regional actors to impose new deterrent equations.
The report added that this trend is not limited to the military aspect alone, but extends to political, economic, and media tools. These tools aim to redefine Israel’s role in the region, transforming it from a confrontation state into a center of gravity that dictates its terms to the surrounding balances of power.
The report warned that the continuation of this approach could lead to further escalation and instability. This is occurring amidst the overlapping of regional arenas and the entanglement of unresolved issues, placing the region at a highly sensitive juncture that requires different approaches to prevent a wider explosion of existing tensions.
