Amman, Jordan – King Abdullah II and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a summit in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where they issued a joint statement condemning Iranian attacks. They also stressed the need to avoid involving Arab states in regional conflicts that do not concern them.
Both sides condemned the military escalation in the region, asserting that continued strikes threaten the security and stability of the Middle East. They further stated that the ongoing attacks exacerbate the already complex political and security situation at a time when the region requires de-escalation and diplomatic solutions.
The summit affirmed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs, while calling for prioritizing dialogue. It also stressed the need to avoid escalation that could drag the region into wider confrontations, which would not serve the interests of its people.
The two leaders further emphasized the necessity of strengthening joint Arab action to confront current challenges and maintain the stability of Arab states, keeping them away from axes of conflict. This is essential to safeguarding Arab national security.
This summit comes amidst a tense regional climate, with developments accelerating rapidly, prompting Arab leaders to intensify their coordination. This is an attempt to contain the crisis and prevent its repercussions from spreading to more countries.
