Baghdad, Iraq – The Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources categorically denied reports circulating in some media outlets and on social media platforms regarding the presence of foreign forces inside the Mosul Dam. It also affirmed that the dam is entirely under the management and control of Iraqi personnel.
In an official statement, the ministry said that all operation and maintenance work within the dam is carried out by specialized Iraqi teams. It emphasized that the claims circulating about the presence of foreign forces at the site are “completely unfounded.”
The ministry added that the Mosul Dam is one of the most vital and strategic facilities in the country. It is managed according to the highest safety standards and technical supervision, in coordination with relevant government agencies, to ensure the dam’s stability and continued efficient operation.
The ministry emphasized that the Iraqi government is giving the dam project significant attention due to its vital role in managing water resources and providing water to vast areas of the country, as well as its importance in electricity generation.
This denial comes at a time when social media is circulating rumors about the nature of foreign presence at some vital facilities in Iraq. Therefore, official bodies have issued repeated clarifications to reassure the public and affirm Iraq’s complete sovereignty over these facilities.
