Moscow, Russia – The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that acquiring nuclear weapons has become an “obsession” for the regime in Kyiv. It deemed such tendencies a serious threat to regional and international stability. This warning comes amid escalating tensions between Moscow and Ukraine.
In an official statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that statements by some Ukrainian officials regarding the need to possess nuclear capabilities reflect a worrying trend. Moscow stressed that it is closely monitoring the statements and positions emanating from Kyiv on this matter. It also called on the international community to take these proposals seriously and work to prevent any actions that could threaten global security and stability.
These warnings come at a time of escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine. This comes amid an exchange of accusations regarding military and political escalation, increasing fears of a wider conflict and its repercussions for international security.
