Doha, Qatar – The Qatari Amiri Diwan announced that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. During the call, they discussed efforts to reduce regional tensions and promote stability in the region. The statement explained that both sides emphasized the importance of supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving crises through dialogue and peaceful means. They also stressed the need to prevent further escalation in the region.

This call comes on the eve of the anticipated meeting between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It also coincides with a visit to Doha by Iranian officials, including Ali Larijani. This reflects a flurry of diplomatic activity in the region amid escalating tensions. The call underscores the ongoing coordination between Washington and Doha on a number of regional issues. Furthermore, Qatar reaffirms its support for political solutions and de-escalation through diplomatic channels.
