Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia and Algeria signed a judicial cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening coordination between the two countries in combating transnational crime. It also aims to exchange legal expertise and facilitate cooperation in investigations and trials related to complex criminal cases.
Officials from both sides affirmed that the agreement represents a significant step towards strengthening justice and protecting society from organized crime. They noted that it includes the exchange of judicial information and the training of legal personnel. Furthermore, it focuses on developing joint procedures for handling complex legal cases, all in accordance with each country’s national laws.
Both parties indicated that the agreement also aims to address security challenges, cybercrime, corruption, and smuggling. They emphasized that judicial cooperation enhances the two countries’ ability to protect citizens’ rights and ensure the swift resolution of cases. It also supports the rule of law and strengthens trust between judicial bodies.
