Washington, DC – The United States is moving to redraw the command structure within NATO. This move reflects strategic shifts within the alliance amid escalating global security challenges, including rising tensions with Russia and China.

According to Western reports, Washington is seeking to redistribute some leadership positions and strengthen the role of its European allies in managing military and operational matters. These efforts aim to ensure the alliance’s readiness and develop decision-making mechanisms to address rapidly evolving crises.

These new moves indicate a US desire to modernize NATO’s command structure to align with the nature of modern threats, including cyber warfare and hybrid warfare. The US administration is also seeking to bolster its military presence on the alliance’s eastern flank.

Observers believe that the command restructuring may also aim for greater burden-sharing among member states. This comes particularly in light of domestic US pressure to reduce Europe’s complete dependence on American military capabilities.

This move comes at a time when the alliance is undergoing continuous expansion and increasing military coordination. Therefore, this reflects a new phase of strategic repositioning in the European and Atlantic security architecture.
