Ankara, Turkey – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that there are clear indications that Israel is still seeking a suitable opportunity to launch an attack on Iran.
He warned that any such move would exacerbate the instability in the Middle East.
This region is already suffering from multifaceted tensions.
In a televised interview, the Turkish Foreign Minister added that he hopes
the parties involved will pursue alternative paths to prevent further escalation in the region.
However, he stressed that the reality points to a continued trend of escalation.
He said, “I hope they will find a different path, but the fact is that Israel, in particular, is still waiting for an opportunity to strike Iran.”
The Turkish Foreign Minister’s statements come amid escalating regional and international concerns about the widening scope of the conflict.
These concerns are growing especially with the increasing tensions related to the Iranian nuclear issue
and the indirect exchange of military operations between regional parties.
In addition, there is the ongoing war in Gaza and its broad security and political repercussions.
The Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized that any potential attack on Iran would not only affect one side
but would negatively impact the stability of the entire region.
He noted that Turkey is closely monitoring developments and calls for restraint, also urges prioritizing diplomatic solutions.
He also stressed the importance of dialogue as a fundamental means to prevent the situation from escalating into open conflict.
Such a conflict could have devastating human and economic consequences.
