Stockholm, Sweden – Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmö Steinergaard released a video message announcing that her country is working to have the Revolutionary Guard listed as a terrorist organization and that it stands with the Iranian people.
Malmö affirmed that Stockholm supports the thousands of courageous Iranian men and women who have protested for their freedom and rights, and condemns the Islamic Republic’s use of lethal violence against peaceful demonstrators and the widespread and arbitrary arrests. It stated that despite the internet blackout in Iran and the difficulty in accessing information, reports of the crackdown on protests are “extremely alarming,” and that Sweden is following developments in Iran with concern.
