Washington, DC – Pete Hegseth, a US official and military expert, confirmed that the United States is working to rebuild its military capabilities. The goal of these efforts is to prepare for various forms of potential conflict, in what he described as a “highly turbulent global period.”
In media statements, Hegseth explained that Washington now views the international environment as more complex and dangerous than in previous years. He noted that the challenges are not limited to a single conflict, but include strategic competition with major powers, along with various regional threats.
He noted that the process of rebuilding the US military includes modernizing its combat doctrine, upgrading its weaponry, and developing its technological capabilities. Efforts are focused on air and space defense, artificial intelligence, and cyber warfare. This development ensures the maintenance of US military superiority.
He added that the US military leadership is also focusing on troop readiness and rapid deployment, as well as strengthening joint training with allies. He believes that advance preparation is the fundamental guarantee against being drawn into long and costly wars.
Higgseth emphasized that these policies are not intended to ignite new conflicts. Rather, they aim to strengthen deterrence and prevent adversaries from testing the strength of the United States or its vital interests around the world.
These statements come at a time of escalating international tensions, whether in Eastern Europe, the Indo-Pacific region, or the Middle East. This is prompting Washington to reassess its defense priorities in light of the evolving nature of the threats.
