Washington, DC – The United States and Ukraine are continuing intensive talks aimed at exploring ways to end the war that has raged for more than two years. This comes at a time of sporadic escalations on the front lines and mounting international pressure for a political settlement.
According to diplomatic sources, the talks will include an assessment of the situation on the ground. This will be done alongside exploring initiatives that could reduce tensions and create a conducive environment for negotiations. The military and economic support that Kyiv will need in the coming period will also be discussed.
Washington reaffirmed its commitment to “supporting Ukraine until a just peace is achieved.” Kyiv, meanwhile, stressed that any settlement must guarantee “the restoration of full sovereignty” over its territory. Reports also indicated intensified communication between the two sides and their European partners to explore a common path forward.
