Moscow, Russia – The Kremlin described European countries’ efforts to intervene in an attempt to find a settlement to the ongoing war in Ukraine as “futile”.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue regarding a US plan aimed
at ending the conflict that has been ongoing for nearly four years.
The Kremlin’s diplomatic advisor, Yuri Ushakov, confirmed to Russian state television
that European intervention in the Ukrainian issue has not achieved any tangible results.
He added that “the methods the Europeans are taking in this regard seem completely futile

At the same time, Ushakov announced a “preliminary agreement
for US Special Envoy Steve Wittkopf to visit Moscow next week.”
Accompanied by an American delegation specializing in the Ukraine file,
he confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin would receive him upon his arrival.
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Witkov was planning
direct talks with Putin on a plan to end the war.
He noted that some items in the plan appear “positive,”
while others require extensive discussion among experts.
Lavrov: We reject European mediation
In the same context, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov rejected
any European mediation in the matter.
He stressed that “France and Germany have no place in the mediation process today.”
While Moscow expressed its appreciation for the United States’ initiatives,

practical proposals to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
