Cairo, Egypt – Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that the army is expanding its operations in Gaza. It is entering what he described as a “decisive phase.” He warned that the Strip will be completely destroyed if Hamas does not release the hostages and disarm.
He pointed out that more than 750,000 Palestinians have been displaced from Gaza City to the south. This displacement occurred amid the ongoing heavy bombardment.
Tragic human toll
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll has risen to 65,926, with 167,783 injured since the outbreak of the war. The Ministry confirmed that many victims remain under the rubble and in the streets. Ambulances and civil defense teams are unable to reach them.
International calls to stop the aggression
On the fifth day of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York, several countries emphasized the need to end “Palestinian suffering.” These countries, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Cuba, strongly supported the two-state solution. They advocated for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan called for “serious international action to halt the aggression and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.” He warned against international inaction.
A decisive Egyptian position
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed that Egypt will not “bet the lives of its children” to force aid into Gaza. He emphasized that his country has been making efforts for two years. These efforts aim to prevent an explosion and its repercussions for the region.
