Brasilia, Brazil – In the first presidential visit in 21 years, the Brazilian president arrived in South Korea today, in a move described by diplomats as a “new chapter” in relations between the two countries. The visit aims to bolster economic and technological cooperation, with a focus on renewable energy projects and trade between Seoul and Brazil.
Brazilian officials affirmed that this visit opens a new chapter in the strategic partnership, following a long hiatus in official summit-level visits, reflecting the two countries’ desire to revive political and economic dialogue at the highest levels.
The visit includes the signing of several cooperation agreements in the fields of innovation and digitalization, as well as extensive meetings with business leaders to promote joint investments. It is expected that the trip will give a significant boost to trade relations between South America and East Korea.
