European dock workers plan to prevent weapons from reaching Israel.

This move comes after ships loaded with weapons and military equipment docked in ports in Greece, France, and Italy. The goal was to prevent them from reaching Israeli territory, as part of a coordinated European effort to pressure Israel and halt support for military operations.

Genoa, Italy – The European and Mediterranean Dockers’ Union announced a rally in Genoa, Italy, next Friday and Saturday. Their goal is to coordinate efforts to prevent arms shipments to Israel. There is also the possibility of expanding the initiative into a broader trade boycott.

  • Focus on the global resilience fleet
  • Steps to prevent military exports
  • Ships loaded with weapons dock at European ports

Wide participation of European unionists

Trade unionists from Spain, France, Greece, Cyprus, Morocco, and Germany are scheduled to participate in the meeting. Their goal is to develop a joint strategy. This includes immediate and long-term measures to ensure that weapons do not reach Israel.

Focus on the global resilience fleet

Discussions focused on dealing with the “Global Resilience Flotilla” of humanitarian aid convoys. Among the convoys were ships carrying activist Greta Thunberg, which were targeted by Israeli drones south of Crete.

Steps to prevent military exports

The talks also include a ban on military exports to Israel. There is a possibility of expanding the measures to include coordinated industrial actions. These actions could occur in European ports against all goods bound for Israel.
