The US President not only welcomed the indictments but also predicted that the indictments would include other individuals. However, he did not name them. He also reiterated his old accusations against Comey of “lying and leaking classified information,” describing him as “weak and a liar.”

Comey served as director of the FBI from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure, he oversaw sensitive matters. Most notably, he handled the investigation into Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s emails prior to the 2016 election. This process sparked widespread political controversy.
