Moscow, Russia – The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday the destruction of a temporary Ukrainian troop deployment point and a drone control center. Two cargo ships in the port of Odessa were also targeted, as part of renewed Russian military operations against Ukrainian targets.
Destruction of drone control sites
The Russian Defense Ministry, in a statement carried by the Sputnik news agency, said that Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers of the Aerospace Forces destroyed a temporary deployment point for Ukrainian forces. A drone control center in the Kharkiv region and the city of Druzhkivka were also destroyed.
She added that an airstrike near the town of Dementivka in the Kharkiv region, using a Kh-39 guided missile, destroyed a drone control center belonging to the 22nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Two cargo ships targeted in Odessa
In a related development, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had carried out a drone strike using Guran-4 Seeker aircraft. These drones targeted two dry cargo ships in the port of Odessa.
The ministry explained that the strike was aimed at limiting the logistical capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces. It also noted that a fire broke out on the two ships following the attack.
Strike at Ukrainian logistical capabilities
The announced strikes reflect a focus of Russian operations on sites linked to Ukrainian military and logistical capabilities. This includes drone control centers and facilities associated with supply routes.
