  • Impact of Infrastructure Targeting on Regional Stability

Sirik, Iran | The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the targeting of water reservoirs in Sirik. Consequently, Tehran considered the attack a direct assault on vital civil facilities. Moreover, the Foreign Ministry confirmed these actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law. As a result, it warned of dangerous humanitarian repercussions affecting daily lives. Thus, Iran holds the international community responsible for protecting essential facilities.

Details of the Attack and Tehran’s Stance on International Law

The Iranian Foreign Ministry described water facilities as protected civil objects. Accordingly, they may not be targeted under any circumstances. In addition, Tehran sees this attack as a worrying shift in conflict patterns. Conversely, it emphasized that harming civilian services strikes at the core of international humanitarian law. Therefore, it demanded a clear, unified UN stance to criminalize these practices.

Impact of Infrastructure Targeting on Regional Stability

Iran emphasized that targeting infrastructure will increase regional tension. On the other hand, it warned of rising risks to overall regional stability. Consequently, Tehran reserves the right to take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty. Ultimately, maintaining the security of civil facilities remains an absolute priority according to international law. Accordingly, Iran continues its calls to criminalize targeting civilian objects internationally.
