Kuwait – The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army issued an official notice to citizens and residents announcing that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, part of the Land Forces Engineering Corps, would be conducting a field operation this morning, Sunday.
According to the statement, specialized teams will be handling and destroying explosive remnants of war and shrapnel. This operation will take place between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
The General Staff reassured the public that any explosions heard during the specified hours in certain areas are a direct result of the safe disposal of shrapnel and explosives in designated areas. These sounds should not cause alarm.
This measure is part of the ongoing and periodic efforts undertaken by the Land Forces to clear military sites and ensure the security and safety of Kuwaiti territory from any old military remnants or unexploded ordnance.
The General Staff called on everyone to cooperate with security directives and to stay away from operational areas where they are located. It also affirmed the Kuwaiti Army’s commitment to the highest professional safety standards during the execution of these technical tasks.
This transparent announcement aims to inform the public about the source of the sounds, preventing the spread of rumors or public anxiety. This ensures that engineering operations proceed efficiently and calmly according to schedule.
