Kuwait City, Kuwait – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces intercepted seven hostile drones that violated the country’s airspace in the past 24 hours. This occurred during an attack targeting National Guard facilities, which resulted in injuries to several members of the Guard.
Injuries and material damage
The Ministry’s official spokesperson, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, explained that the attack resulted in injuries to a number of National Guard members. He indicated that they are receiving the necessary treatment and that their conditions are stable. He also confirmed that significant material damage was inflicted on some of the targeted vital facilities.
Dealing with aerial threats
The Ministry confirmed that the armed forces detected the seven drones within Kuwaiti airspace and dealt with them according to established defense procedures, as part of ongoing efforts to protect airspace and vital installations from threats.
Engineering efforts to address the reports
In a related context, Al-Atwan noted that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams of the Land Forces Engineering Corps responded to 14 reports during the same period. This was done in accordance with approved plans and procedures to ensure the safety and security of the sites.
